The Community Association was formed in 1996 by George Thomas from the flames of the local residents association.  George has been a long standing resent of Bracklesham and had previously held a seat on the local East Wittering and Bracklesham Parish Council.  Following the first of many housing developments in the village he set up the residents association with the aim of bringing a feeling of community into the area.  In the early 1990s it was proposed that a community facility should be built in Bracklesham due to the ever increasing housing developments taking place.  As a result of this the Bracklesham Bay Community Association (BBCA) was born - a registered charity with the main purpose of setting up and running a new Community Centre.
