Well, since we started creating this new website things have changed quite considerably!
As you will see from this website it has not been an easy, or quick, ride to get to having a Community Centre being built in Bracklesham. Following issues with the use and ownership of the land the project is being run in conjunction with Chichester District Council and the East Wittering & Bracklesham Parish Council.
The aim is still to provide a Community Centre that will be available to all members of the local community. This work is being carried out though a tri-party group which comprises of nine members taken equally from the Bracklesham Bay Community Association, the District Council and the Parish Council.
Not exactly what was originally planned by the BBCA when we started down the road several years ago, but at least it looks as though we are going to finally get a much needed Community Centre and Community Park! The picture here shows the plot of land that started all the discussions many years ago, and are still going on today!

ELVIS IS COMING ... AGAIN!

Fantastic News : The Centre will begin to take shape very soon ... a turf cutting ceremony will take place on Thursday 15th April at 3.30pm. It has also be been announced that Construction Partnership Limited of Southampton has been appointed as the successful contractor to build the new Community Centre. A start date will be announced shortly.

Summer in the park!! During August several events were organised in Bracklesham Park - have a look at the pictures to see what fun was had by all!
Elvis was in the House
The Elvis night in the Village Hall in East Wittering was a great success.
We had a near full house and everybody enjoyed our local Elvis. There were burgers and other food along with drinks on sale during the evening, people brought their own alcohol. The raffle went down well with many prizes donated from local shops and businesses.
Elvis put his heart and soul into the performance and he was very entertaining. He even had a few of his famous “friends” turn up to do a slot.
Later in the evening the dance floor was buzzing with rock and roll dancers from very young to very old.

Action in Rural Sussex have just launched their ‘Heart of The Village Campaign’. the aim of the campaign is to persuade the government that more lottery money should go towards developing village buildings. Click here to read more and pledge your support.
