Forthcoming TV Switchover - BBC Help Scheme

Dear Bracklesham Barn Community Centre,

I left a phone message with the Parish Council for the attention of Joyce Griffith, but I thought I'd email you as well.  I'm part of a Helpscheme being run by the BBC and other partners to spread the word about the forthcoming TV switchover to a digital service, which is taking place in this area in March 2012. The Helpscheme is aimed at people aged over 75 or registered disabled, and offers help with new digital TV equipment and support and reassurance.  It's very important that some of the most vulnerable members of our community don't find themselves left out when the change happens.

As part of this, I am giving brief, informal talks to small groups of older people at church coffee mornings, U3A meetings, social events at community centres and so on. I was wondering if I might be able to drop into an event or two at the centre to spread the word. It's very short, about 5 minutes, then I'm happy to take questions from the floor or individually, and have a leaflet to distribute.

I plan to be at the United Reform Church at 1030 on Tuersday 10th January, the library's "Knit and Natter" on Thursday 12th January, Windmill Court of the 18th, URC lunch club on 19th and the URC Fellowship on 26th January, so I can fit around any of those dates, or if none is convenient, I can make another arrangement to suit you.
